Prepping site 4 weeks 3 days ago Learning from our first beehive experience, we've decided the next hives will be out in the open more. The old hives were to the right of this picture.	Taking Shape 4 weeks 3 days ago Chris is cutting some of the lower branches to make room for the new hives and beekeepers. That job title of "beekeeper" is only the beginning of his job duties.	Ready for some hives 4 weeks 3 days ago The platform is level and we're ready to put the hive boxes in place. Time to go pick up the bees. Purchased four 3 lbs. packages of bees. Two for here and two for hives at Horizon Cellars.
Stadium seating 4 weeks 3 days ago We set up some seating at a safe distance for anyone who wanted to watch us hive the bees. Four brave souls enjoyed the show, including Jenn, who is allergic to bee stings!	2 hives! No waiting! 4 weeks 3 days ago Hives are placed and ready for some bees. We decided to paint the hives this time. We hope the bees like their pretty homes.	Welcome Home 4 weeks 3 days ago Chris has just "poured" the bees into the hive. They are busy checking out the accommodations. It helps that it smells like beeswax.
